I first "discovered" the Conway Scenic Railroad in October 2008 when Barbara and I were visiting the Mount Washington area to ride the Cog.  We stumbled upon one of the Conway Scenic trains that runs over the former Maine Central route through "the Notch" to Crawford.  Back in those days the CSR train had F-units, and the old style paint scheme and mix of light and heavyweight equipment made it look much like a train from the early 1950's.    So when Pete Lerro announced a steam photo charter for January 2009 I was quick to sign up.  The day before our chartered steam freight, the RRE ran their more or less annual snow train with the little 0-6-0 hauling their passenger train.  All of this is pictured here.  Interesting railroad.
