Interestingly the Canadian still offers open sections, an old style of sleeping car accomodation that disappeared quickly after World War Two. But they remained popular in Canada and all the CP sleepers were built with them and it would be expensive to replace them. Two facing seats make up into a lower berth, and an upper berth folds down from above. Night time privacy is provide by heavy curtains, and washrooms are down the hall. April 2018.
