This was an amazing year on the ex-DRGW narrow gauge lines, the C&TS and D&S. I made three visits, in March, August and October and came away with quite a variety of photographs. Winter snow plowing, summer green, and bright fall color, four classes of motive power, two ex-RGS geese, a steam-powered pile driver, and a 30 car train of restored freight cars wrapped around some of those famous curves. Between the regular trains, charter freights, geese, and diesel work trains, some days on the C&TS there were five "trains" moving. It is even more amazing if you extend the window one month and consider the two engine trains that ran in September 2015 (pictures HERE). And all this was capped with what is likely to be Dave and Jean Gross' last charter on the D&S. It is hard to believe that almost 50 years after the DRGW ran its last revenue narrow gauge freight train these kinds of images are still possible.
